tVNS non-surgical tvns treatment for cognitive impairment, dementia and alzheimer's. The most up-to-date health information on cognitive impairment causes, symptoms, and treatment options Cognitive Impairment Groundbreaking Technologies for Life What is Cognitive Impairment? The shrinkage caused by the loss of cells in the brain causes various functional disorders. These dysfunctions may manifest as dementia, Alzheimer, and mild cognitive impairment, which are comm on in people ives. People with cognitive impairment are at high risk for Alzheimer and dementia. When adequate precautions are taken, cognitive impairment may regress, and it is possible for these people to lead a normal life. Types of Cognitive Disorder Demantia It is the inadequacies experienced in language, skills and orientation, especially forgetfulness. Dementia is a family that includes many different types. There are Alzheimer's, dementia due to c hronic cerebrovascular disease, alcoholic dementia, depr essive dementia, dementia due to infections, etc. Dementia occurs as a result of general deterioration of the upper level functions of the cerebral cortex, especially over 75 years of age, with advancing age. There are dementias that start with memory impairment such as Alzheimer's disease, as well as behavioral disorders, skill disorders, depression, There are also dementias that start with the symptoms of parkinson's disease and language disorders. It is a progressive disease. Alzhemeir It is the most common type of dementia is a neurological disease that causes the destruction of brain cells. The disease, which causes a decrease in thought, memory and behavioral functions, occurs after a long time with advancing age. It may take years for the disease to reach advanced stages. Because it is a progressive disease, Alzheimer's patients experience problems such as inability to perform their daily tasks, forgetfulness and serious confusion. People with memory loss or other possible Alzheimer's symptoms may have trouble recognizing that they have a problem. Treatment Options for Cognitive Disorder There is no drug therapy approved to treat cognitive impairment. Medicines used to treat symptoms of Alzheimer's disease have been tried. Some studies have found that using these drugs for cognitive impairment is helpful, while others have concluded that there is no benefit. It has been noted that the use of other drugs, including NSAIDs, Ginkgo, Biloba and vitamin E, does not provide a great benefit. tVNS Effect Mechanism There are many clinical studies in recent years that cognitive disorders are caused by inflammation in the brain. Although the basic efficacy mechanism of tVNS has not been fully resolved, our new generation devices in 2021 became the first neuromodulation therapy approved for cognitive impairment in the world, due to both its benefits in the treatment of inflammation and the increase in neuroplasticity. - Migraine | tVNS HEALTH
Non-surgical, drug-free, low side-effect treatment for tVNS migraine. The most up-to-date health information about migraine causes, symptoms, treatment options Migraines Migraines manifest as a neurological disorder characterized by an intense, pulsating headache, frequently concentrated on one side of the head. Unique features setting migraines apart from other headaches include nausea, vomiting, and heightened sensitivity to sound and light. The intensity of the pain often hinders the performance of daily tasks, resulting in limitations. Notably, migraine attacks stand as a primary contributor to disability and work-related absence in developed nations Less migraines - more from life. Treatment Options for Migraines Acupuncture Treatment One of the most commonly used treatment methods for migraine treatment in western countries is acupuncture. Acupuncture has the ability to increase the release of endorphins in the body which act as powerful pain relievers. At the same time, acupuncture also activates calming chemicals in the body. Botulinum Toxin Treatment Another treatment method in chronic migraine patients is botulinum toxin treatment, which has been applied since 2010. The frequency and severity of pain can be reduced by applying it to patients who use too many painkillers and are unresponsive to other treatments. This treatment is generally well tolerated and there are no serious side effects. Dry Needle Therapy Dry needle therapy is a drug-free, scientific treatment method based on the stimulation of the trigger points in the muscles in different parts of the body using special needles of different sizes. Migraine Surgery Migraine surgery is the intervention of the nerve branches located in the forehead, temples, neck and nape root of the migraine-related regions of the brain, and to the vessels and muscles around these nerve branches. With surgery, these anatomical structures may be permanently damaged, nerve endings may be damaged and ‘neuropathic pains’ may occur. Anti-CGRP Injection CGRP plays a key role in dilating or widening blood vessels. The injection works to block the sites in and around the brain in place of CRGP or binds directly to CGRP and prevents it from being effective. The effects are not yet known. Medications that lower CRGP may cause side effects that affect your blood pressure and heart. Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation The tVNS® auricular vagus stimulation device is a treatment option that provides vagus nerve stimulation through the ear with a smartphone-sized device and a special headset without any surgical intervention. How does tVNS® treat migraines? The focus of migraine therapy with tVNS® is the activation of the parasympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system. This part of the nervous system is always active when we are relaxing or resting and is responsible for cell regeneration and metabolic processes. The stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system triggers the necessary regeneration processes of inflammatory areas and acts as a recovery accelerator. Neurostimulation with tVNS® is used both as a migraine prophylaxis and during an acute attack. While drugs are taken orally and thus develop their effect systematically, they are often accompanied by numerous undesirable side effects. Therapy with tVNS® , on the other hand, has the advantage that it activates the parasympathetic system directly by stimulating the vagus nerve on the ear and has very few side effects. tVNS® has helped hundreds of patients suffering from migraines to reduce or completely eliminate migraines and lead a more self-determined life. “The idea of treating migraine without medication appealed to me immediately. And now, a year and a half after the first application, I have a completely new quality of life.” M. Dohring from Berlin Contact Us

tVNS treatment in sleep disorders. The most up-to-date health information on sleep disorders causes, symptoms, treatment options INSOMNIA (SLEEP DISORDER) What is Insomnia? Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that makes it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep, or to wake up too early and not be able to go back to sleep. People with insomnia feel tired when they wake up. Insomnia can reduce not only energy level and mood, but also health, work performance and quality of life. It is the disease of not being able to sleep in sufficient time and restful sleep. During the existence of the disease, symptoms such as irregularity in sleeping hours, sudden night awakenings, difficulty falling asleep after waking up, and waking up very early in the morning are observed. The existence of a regular sleep time and long naps does not mean that we will wake up the next day rested and ready to work. In studies on sleep and sleeping problems, it is said that an adult individual should sleep 7-8 hours every night. However, the resting process, which differs from person to person, can change the person's sleep duration. Types of Insomnia Acute insomnia: It refers to the short-term appearance of insomnia. Acute insomnia usually occurs after a stressful day or on days when mental tension is high. Our body clock has a hard time showing when it's time to rest on such difficult days. This irregularity, which usually lasts for 1 to 2 days, continues unti l we feel better. There are signs of acute insomnia that can last up to 4 weeks. Chronic Insomnia: A sleep disorder that lasts for 1 month or more is called chronic insomnia. A large proportion of 10-15% of adults suffer from chronic insomnia. Compared to acute insomnia, chronic insomnia requires medical attention. The main cause of this type of disorder is usually the presence of major depression. Hypersomnia: characterized by excessive sleepiness and excessive daytime sleep requirements. It is less common than insomnia. Narcolepsy : Includes excessive daytime sleepiness and abnormal findings in daily REM sleep for at least 3 months. Narcolepsy is an abnormality in the sleep mechanism, especially in the REM mechanism. Treatment Options for Insomnia Sleep Techniques Airflow in and out of the lungs during breathing Blood oxygen levels. Body position. During the last 20 years, basic and clinical research has unraveled many of these questions and augmented our understanding of tVNS pathways and physiologic effects. The number of publications increased exponentially within the last three years and continues to grow rapidly. Many questions have been addressed and therapeutic indications beyond the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy and depression are steadily expanding and continue to be explored. Clinical Studies Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has become a therapeutic option for patients with resistant epilepsy and depression. The field of tVNS is quickly progressing due to its non-invasive nature, presenting a promising alternative to the side effects associated with invasive VNS. Notably, tVNS stands out for its accessibility, affordability, and easiness of application compared to traditional VNS methods. However, the non-invasive stimulation of the outer ear brings forth new queries regarding optimal stimulation sites, stimulus parameters, and the physiological pathways of transcutaneous auricular VNS. Over the past two decades, both basic and clinical research have made significant strides, unraveling these complexities, enhancing our comprehension of tVNS pathways and physiological effects. The exponential growth in publications over the last years underscores the expanding knowledge base. As we delve deeper, therapeutic applications and achievable objectives of tVNS beyond epilepsy and depression treatment are continually broadening, promising new horizons in the field.
